1 – Pubs were being forced to close down by the government & would therefore have no means of generating revenue
2 – Consumers were struggling to order food from the major supermarkets
What we did to help
Proposition for a Pub:
Keep Trading – Allows pub to continue to trade & be part of the local community
Increase sales – Easy to manage ordering platform which enables the pub the ability to sell their current stock (both food & drink by single sku rather than just as a meal)
Saves time – Automating processes & redirecting telephone / email orders into one easy to manage system
Safe – secure payments between the consumer & the pub.
Cashflow – The pub will be paid within 24 hours of completion of order
Low admin – Collection service – AM & PM slots can be chosen
Simple stock management – Automated email alerts when restocking is necessary.
Loyalty – Driving all people back to the heart of the local community for now & in the longer term
Proposition for Consumer:
Ability to buy locally – People continue to panic buy & myPubShop can provide you with a local solution for your essentials
Safe collection – Minimal contact & closer to your home
Community Feel – Look after the pub & the pub will look after you
Over 600 pubs signed up and started trading through the platform. We were inundated by the desire of pubs to stay open & support their local community, many of whom lived in isolated parts of the country and were unable to buy food elsewhere.
Some of the pubs & shops were doing +100 orders a day at one point, selling eggs, yeast, milk and bread…. It was a truly an amazing experience to be part of and all not-for-profit.
We partnered with a number of major businesses including:
Food service partners: Brakes, Bidfood, Costcutter, Delice de France, Bestway, Hopwell’s
Brand Owners supported the model : CCEP, BBG, Heineken, Red Bull, Britvic
Pub Co’s supported the model: Admiral, Greene King, Star Pubs, St. Austell, Trust Inns, Cirrus Inns, Robinson’s
